Another fantastic weekend of squash!

As in the previous tournaments, Series 3 of the Butcombe Race of Champions attracted entrants from across the South West and the competition was held at the Chew Valley Leisure Centre where spectators were treated to a feast of squash. The knock-out rounds started on the Thursday night and continued into the Friday with the semis and the final being played on the Saturday.

The Cup final turned out to be an all-valley clash which was won by John Thompson, a CVSC player from Ubley, who beat Joey Williams to take the title; however, popular interest was in the Plate final which was a father v son clash involving two players from Kingswood, Andrew and Jordan Milbourne - and son Jordan fought through a fantastic 4-setter to take the Plate.

So after Series 3, here is the updated ranking - and there's a real battle for the Top 8 places! At the end of Series 4, the Top 8 will be decided and will go forward to our final Super Series Finale to be held in June.

It's been great to see so many quality players entering Series 3 of the tournament, with growing numbers of entrants from other clubs across the region, and also to see another CVSC player take the title on home ground. Thanks go out to all who entered, the organisers (Ricky and supporting cast) and the sponsors Butcombe Brewing Co., The Pelly in Chew Magna and Valentino Kitchens.

Series 4, which takes place on Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th May, is the last open tournament before the Super Series Finale, the battle of the Champions, which is scheduled for the Summer.
